Yeah it's time Lupine printed some more posters
Here's the video to go with the pic ;)
@andi. For me this pic is all about the situation and the light although I also understand what you mean about having the trail in the pics. There's a video of Johannes riding this mountain coming out soon with a lot more trail content in it, so you should be a little happier when you watch that:) Thanks for the feedback anyway.
Thanks. Taken using the Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 fisheye lens on a D700.
Good shot.
Its a nice pic but I think the rider separation should have been between the rock gap and framed a little lower. Anyway, Flo, cool :)
Nice one Christoph
Well, this is what I said over on the single trail pics thread,

"For the sky then shoot raw, you'd be surprised how much detail is hiding there if you push the exposure in post. Some noise will appear but you can treat that with Dfine. It's a 40 sec long exposure with two flashes on the front curtain. Rear curtain would have ghosted the rider with the trail of light. Normally I don't use front curtain, since the light worm goes the wrong way, but in this case it was okay because you don't see the light source."

I used a Panasonic GH2 and the 7-14mm lens @ 7mm, ISO 160, f/5.6, 40 secs + two Nikon SB24's fired by Skyports. A tripod and cable release are quite useful too. For shots like this you really don't need a particularly expensive cam or a fast lens.

So we've done Chamonix, Salzburg, Garmisch, seen a lot from Innsbruck too ... would be good to see some night shots taken above other cities
Very good pic!!
I think the pic is quite good in its own funny kind of way, and, of course, I dig the B&W treatment Happy to see it here.

This pic is also great in the FdW Vorschläge folder, and would also have been worthy. Too bad not as many people voted for it.

I think this is pretty boring for IBC FdW. Rider action and sharpness is good but the right & bottom sides of the frame are dead and there's no framing or anything to make the image really stand out. There's a couple of other pics there in the vorschläge folder that are much better. I think the standard has gone down over the last couple of FdW images.
It's a cool shot but it could be even better if you recovered more detail in the sky.
Nice one Max

It's always difficult with sequences to just select enough so they're not too crowded, but I think this one looks fine.
It's a cool pic and something different, nice
It's kind of surprising how many lame comments get posted so quickly about, what I think is a pretty decent image Comments are weak and probably come from people who know nothing about photography. Actually, I did not recommend it to be FdW, nor did I select it and publish it here on the homepage. In the last days I was involved in a photo/video project with two great riders and a very talented photographer. This image of mine was just a "taster" image I posted on my site and the Hochtouren thread last night. It's a great on-line community and I enjoy contributing. Was news to me this morning that it got FdW and I was just as surprised as anybody else. It's Manfred who has all the killer pics but they're too good to waste for free here, so he's holding them back for more interesting things

FWIW, I'm totally up for a Pink Bike style voting system based on the gallery threads here and to have a more frequent update, perhaps daily. Hoch-format / portrait pics would be nice to see too.

Harald, this is one of the worst FdW pics I have ever seen!!
I think it' a cool pic

For a panning shot the sharpness is where it needs to be, on Peaty's helmet, goggles and right eye ball.

I was there shooting too and personally I thought it was a pretty difficult place to shoot, what with the rain, mud, tight wooded course, low light, etc... There are some other excellent pics from the event, of course, particularly from Sven, Gary, Viktor & Hoshi. Many people have said above that the pic is unsharp, well, with a panning pic nothing in it actually needs to be sharp to make it work. Everyone has seen this pic, right?

The only thing sharp are the corners of the frame but it's an awesome shot, isn't it?

I wish people around here could be a little bit more reserved and constructive in their feedback

Peace.
Nice pic but it looks much better BIG, can appreciate the DOF more
