Bei den Damen zeigte Alexis Skarda heute eine starke Vorstellung. Die US-Amerikanerin drückte das Gaspedal immer wieder mächtig durch, konnte am Ende mit Vera Looser aber nicht in den Kampf ums Podium einsteigen.
Anne Terpstra (links vorne) und Nicole Koller (rechts vorne) haben die Lage im Griff und bestimmen das Tempo. In den ersten vier Tagen ist die Rollenverteilung im Damenfeld eindeutig.

Karl Platt führt eine Gruppe an. Dadurch, dass die Masters und Amateure hinter den Profis starten müssen, sind sie oft auf sich alleine gestellt und können sich nicht an eine Gruppe von Elite-Fahrern hängen.
Bei den Damen hat Candice Lill kurzzeit das Kommando übernommen. Die Südafrikanerin hat die Konkurrenz aber im Schlepptau.
Samara Sheppard fährt ein starkes Cape Epic. Im Vorjahr hätte diese Performance vermutlich zu einigen Tagessiegen geführt. In diesem Jahr sind mit Ghost und Cannondale allerdings zwei sehr starke Paarungen am Start.
