Marco Joubert (im Bild) und Tristan Nortje konnten folgen und sich schließlich entscheidend absetzen.
Die drei gesamtführenden Teams und die späteren Tagessiegerinnen Tessa Kortekaas und Monica Martinez setzten sich schließlich vom Rest des Feldes ab.
Nach einem couragierten Auftritt auf der Königsetappe tags zuvor waren Axel Roudil-Cortinat und Simon Schneller auf der sechsten Etappe erneut schnell unterwegs.
