Für Nino Schurter und Filippo Colombo läuft das Cape Epic bislang nach Plan. Trotzdem: Einen richtig kompfortablen Vorsprung konnten sich die Schweizer bislan noch nicht erarbeiten. 1:52 Minuten können beim Cape Epic schnell weg sein.

Lukas Baum versuchte dem Rennen seinen Stempel aufzudrücken. Das gelang auch zeitweise, doch bei seinem Partner GEorg Egger lief es heute nicht 1a. Am Ende war es Platz 8 für die Speed Company-Jungs.
Von einer Legende zur nächsten: Greg van Avermat wurde 2016 auf der Straße Olympiasieger und mischt beim Cape Epic gut mit. Platz 25 in der Gesamtwertung für den 39-Jährigen mit seinem Partner Julian Siemons.
