It's a bit ironic, given the history between Gary Klein and Charlie Cunningham, how many Klein mountain bikes were built up to mimic a Cunningham. Often referred to as a Kleiningham, these bikes were the answer for some to the high cost and rarity of a Charlie-built bike. Of course this begs the question, "how does the ride of a Kleiningham compare to the real thing?" Pretty close considering that everything but the frame are WTB-related. But the most noticeable difference is the stout rear end made with 1 inch box stays. It's not really compliant at all, and with the 2 inch tires of the era and enough pressure to avoid pinch flats, the rear end doesn't hug the ground like a Cunningham.
