Die beiden Gesamtdritten Samuele Porro und Damiano Ferraro hatten offensichtlich nach den sechs Renntagen noch frische Beine. Die beiden konnten sich aus einer Spitzengruppe heraus absetzen und waren auf dem besten Wege die Etappe für sich zu entsche
Die Pechvögel des Tages: Die beiden Italiener Samuele Porro und Damiano Ferraro waren auf dem besten Wege den Tagessieg auf der sechsten Etappe einzufahren. Mehrere Stürze und ein Reifendefekt sorgten jedoch für ein frühzeitiges Ende aller Hoffnungen
