manuelschafer: 1991 Klein Pinnacle Bright Green - Team Koski Salsa Ritchey "reverse" Storck color combo 🚴🌷

Neo Neon Kleiningham,
KLEINs durethane enamel wet paint results in a deep bright glossy finish,

A bit of neo retro reviving with modifications here while back then received as a BMX-Cruiser ...
Hold on, it wasn't that bad partswise ... just really crusty n' dusty

Build
At the core a period centered build with functional character, as most often times this seems to be the passion of tuning your machine to the needs and tweaks of the rider.. German KLEIN - TEAM Storck Colors come to mind... express what it is ...
"A Germanaic Dropbar-Kleiningham"

Now playfully "re-build back" with a span of parts,
back to be "more" period correct.
Yet adding interesting little refinements, such as Maxx rear brake booster (post 97?), Avid cable hangers and a short 735 RD, in style as Charlie Cunningham who modified and used shortcase Shimano 600 DR aswell early on.

Frame
Pinnacle; normal model with unfiled rear triangle vs the elite model for extra shaving under the paintjob, hold on that was even only available during the 80s when the pinnacle was their Topmodel, before and along the later topgun....

Its a typical 19" KLEIN (modern measuring measure) in their Neon #Bright_Green Colorcode. Fake Storck color "Schemata" ? Well it was typically the Rascal, Attitude and Adroit which got painted in german race team colors. On my interpretation its taken further as an offroad dropbar race build with purple fork instead of black or green and that way it´s all a bit tweeked with the same funky gesture remaining.

-> Fork / forkupgrade (OG stached away of course),
Upgrade to suspension fork like the sales ad suggests ? not here.. no way!, Instead the very best of early straight blade Crmo tubing and vibration absorbing in dropbars/gooseneck stem combo.
A tuningfork with Wtb designed Koski straight blade taper tubing. Filletbrazed and very likely either made by US custom framebuilder Steve Potts as a Charlie Cunningham design (see infopack 1989) or Leo Castellon (while he worked for Dave Tesch. Ross confirmed he didnt make this one anyhow, as he was also making a few of these custom forks in similar detail level.
Leo’s brazing was top class and the “as laid” fillets were inspired by Ross Shafer’s use of that brazing method.
(quote by Charles Hoefer of PCC)
Others who used the tubing at the time frequently were Steve Potts, Cunningham, Tesh and Gecko to name a few who took orders at the time with Don Koski's legendary fork blades that taper from 1" to 3/4"
