Manuel Fumi und Henrique Avancini lagen im ersten Renndrittel noch dicht bei Schurter und Forster. Erst in der letzten Hälfte des Prologs verloren sie stetig an Boden. Unter anderem auch weil sie bergab nicht volles Risiko eingingen.
