TheIdlerGuy: Cane Creek DB InLine Coil Trunnion Conversion
I always loved the performance of the Cane Creek Double Barrel Shocks and got myself an InLine Coil with standart metric eyelets back in 2020, which I rode for quite a while on my Forbidden Druid V1. When the Druid cracked, I decided to go for a Dreadnought V2, but this new frame came with a trunnion mount. I tested many shocks and none performed as I'd liked. So, I decided to give the DB IL another chance, another life, but I had to convert it to 205x60mm Trunnion Mount first. It originally came with metric eyelets in 216x63mm. So, I had to shave off 11mm in length and 3mm in stroke. The easiest part was to restrict the stroke by 3mm, which just required to service the shock and add a spacer accordingly and left me with a shock length of 213mm or 8 more millimetres to get rid of. I figured, that by moving the mount outwards there's enough room to play with between the position of the original eyelet and the ring that fixes the eyelet to the bladder head section of the shock.
