a riveting toothed washer may be the better solution, since the balls might get stuck however/forever...

if you don't want to end up with "like an irreplaceable stuck ball-bearing"
think twice if wtb`s suggestion is the best idea to solve this.

Wtbs previous iteration of sausage link adapter plates came with the mentioned washers and no little bearing balls...
