Vintage MTB Workshop: Believe it or not, the first Salsa bars were "lightweight" aluminum, which was incredibly thick-walled and as a result pretty heavy. They were sourced from a company in Southern California that made bars for motorcycles and BMX. Later they came out with steel bars in silver chrome and black chrome.
